Yes, the Oratex didnicely to the rib. I cut a rectangular hole in the plate thru which I mounted the flaperon cable mount. The plate provided a nice flat surface around the mount to attach the bottom surface Oratex.

No plate. Just the two solid aluminum blocks ...pre-drilled. I believe I epoxied a 2.5×2.5" peice of .016" aluminum sheet to the bottom of the rib to provide a surface to bond the Oratex.

I have a Radiant Combination Altimeter, ROC, and A/S 2" instrument mounted in my panel. The 3 gauges in a small configuration really make the panel layout much easier. The instrument is easy to read and seems to work well.
