Valspar Ultra, High Gloss Exterior Urethane Bright Red. 1st coat over the fiberglas and automotive primer. I'm not very good at painting, so this coat will get a through wet sanding to remove some runs. Coverage is about a pint of paint, 2 oz of floetrol and 1 oz water. One more thinned coat should about do it.
I have template masks for the bubble-bumps. I'm pretty much decided on flat black to match the exhaust piping.
Only 109 degrees today. Tropical disturbance in the Gulf so we just might get some rain relief by the weekend.

Re: Cowl Paint - 1st Coat
Hey Kurt, this seems to suggest that you are sticking with the Polini for now...and 108?
Meanwhile we had a nice rain and temps in the low 70s...but that's passed. Back to sunshine!

Re: Cowl Paint - 1st Coat
No info available on Thump availability. Lots of interest at Oshkosh and Badland. Leadtimes are probably excessive ... but I'm still very interested. I probably have to get the 303 up and running 1st.
In any case, I don't believe the current bubble cowl would work.
