No reply from Polini - Cowling "Bumps" Paint

Post by ksatter26 »

Still no reply on CDI/Relay wiring from Polini.

I laid out the cowling bumps masks as outlined in a previous post. I printed them out on sticky-back printable vinyl sheets from Hobby Lobby, then cut out the ellipses. The masking went pretty well on the lower-starboard "test" bump. I sprayed it this morning and will have to let it dry for a day or so before peeling off the vinyl to see just how well the masking/painting works ... Rust-0-Leum gloss black enamel.

Looking good! Hopefully Polini gets back to you sooner rather than later.

Nice method. How soon do we get to see the results?

Just getting started to verify the process. Peeled off the mask too early on 1st try, requiring some cleanup, re-masking, and painting. I'm giving this try an extra day to dry/cure thoroughly.

I did mask off another bump this morning, but I want to prove the process before I start the other 7.

Pictures to follow soon.

That black should be a nice offset for the red. It's going to look good!
