London Ivey in Tampa found the ignition problem rather quickly.
When I received my replacement COBO 12vdc/200A relay. It came in a Genuine Polini Parts box complete with a printed set if instructions to run a wire from Relay Pin 30 to Battery Positive. Which I did.
London saw no reason for this and removed the wire. This seems to have fixed the problem of the starter motor kicking over as soon as the battery was hooked up.
He sent me a video of the engine actually running. He'll be shipping it back soon.
Meanwhile, I have the fuselage stripped down with wings and tail surfaces removed. With the engine, firewall forward gone, I will probably start the Oratex covering process by attaching the underside Oratex to the fuselage. Pictures to follow.
