102 degrees in the shop ... Harbor Freight to the resscue

Post by ksatter26 »

Big coupon sale ... 30" pedestal shop fan normally $159 ... with coupon $119 ... Nice fan. High speed really covers the whole shop ... if it oscillated it would be perfect.

I've had one of those 30" floor fans (the orange ones) for years in the garage. I wish it would oscillate, but even without that, the moving air certainly makes the heat somewhat more tolerable.

Good deal.

I would point it at the plane, sit in the cockpit and make engine noises while wearing a silk scarf.

   I just started reading the sentence before looking at who posted it, and by the second part I knew who!

And hey, if the fan oscillated, that would be simulated turbulence!

I can do the hangar flying now but once I cover the wings I'd be worried about lift-off ... super-stol.

Haha, does that fan have a "low" setting, so you don't suddenly take off?

Now that would be funny. I could hear it -

"Hey, what happened to the back of Kurt's shop?"

"Oh, we had 20 big fans, so Kurt could practice, and we blew the back of the shop out."

"Oh wow, that's not good!"

"Actually it's not too bad – Kurt now has his own private wind tunnel!”

I must have missed this reply back when it was 1st posted.

Funny ... sometime back I put in the computer control systems at the USAF Wind Tunnel Facility in Tullahoma, TN.

Those fans would really cool the shop and fly the F-3.

I could see on future aviation websites -

Kurt Satter's UL Wind Tunnel Testing. Only $39.95 per hour with the attached coupon!
