Port Wing Tip cover and leading edge placement

Post by ksatter26 »

After completing the tip rib cover, I positioned the Sky Blue Leading edge strip in place and set a line of fixing tape to set the edges of the glue line.

I then removed the leading edge blue panel and applied glue to the topside panel (to the fixing tape line) and to the corresponding areas on the blue panel. Then glued the topside section of the leading edge strip to the wing. Afterwards, flipped the wing over to set the glue line (fixing tape) for attachment to the underside.

I have since applied glue to the underside leading edge area and and used the hobby iron and heat gun to set and shrink the leading edge blue in place.

All that remains is to add the white trim tapes and complete the covering of the root rib. Once done I will locate the hole in the root rib cover for the flapperon control cable and install a rubber grommet as I did on the starboard wing. I'll then mount the flapperon, mount the wing on the fuselage and attach the control cable.

Almost done.

Very nice. I'm looking forward to seeing your plane with both wings attached!
