Let's go flying kit
I put together a kit of the things I believe might be needed for road-trips to/from the testing strip (13 miles away):
Badland F-3 “Let’s Go!” Kit
1. Rubber Malot
2. 25’ Nylon Rope
3. Gloves
4. 6” length 3/16” rod (tighten turnbuckles and clevis ends)
5. Portable Tire Inflator
6. Roll Duck Tape
7. Small VOM
8. Cargo Strap & Rachet
9. Phillips Screwdriver
10. Flat Screwdriver
11. Needle-nose Pliers
12. Small Adjustable wrench
13. 3/8” Nut Driver & Wrench (AN3 hardware)
14. 7/16” Nut Driver & Wrench (AN4 hardware)
15. 1/2" wrench
16. Shop Knife
17. Funnel
18. 32 oz Blue Max 2-Stroke Oil
19. Pre-Mixed Fuel (~ 2 gallons)
20. Quick connect/disconnect fuel line fitting and hose
21. Small Container … assortment of cotter pins, keys, AN3 & AN4 hardware
Missing anything?

Re: Let's go flying kit
Very similar to my "go" kit, except I got lazy and bought a small inexpensive tool kit from Harbor Freight to cover the wrenches, screwdrivers and plyers.
I have most of the rest of what you listed, but am considering adding a few things you include in yours - some form of hammer and a cheap VOM to name two.
For the small container, I have the same items as you, but I also included a few feet of safety wire in mine.
I also have a selection of zip ties in various lengths.

Really nice kit and good thinking. Thanks for posting it here. I'll be copying it, adding Peer's stuff, and of course adding a few things of my own for my planes unique differences.ksatter26 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 11:41 am I put together a kit of the things I believe might be needed for road-trips to/from the testing strip (13 miles away):

I have no idea what you're talking about now where's that edit button?
Re: Let's go flying kit
Peet is a " fat finger" reference to Peer ... zip ties and safery wire added ... thanks.
Re: Let's go flying kit
No rain forecast until late this afternoon. Will try to get the beast off to the testing strip.
Added a couple of small wheel chocks to the kit.

A nice addition. I'll need to remember to pack the ones I have in the garage...it's always the most obvious things that I end up leaving behind.
I can see forgetting the ramps to get the plane on and off the trailer...

Just have someone drive the tow vehicle to 45 knots, then pull back on the stick. Reverse the process for landing. I mean the Navy guys do it all the time on ships, right?LA F2 Flyer wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 1:27 pm A nice addition. I think Todd just found the easiest way to load and unload!
He will be sure to test it when he has his plane built...right Todd? hehe
