This article was written clear back in 2006. I happened to see a link in Facebook about it and decided to take a read. It's interesting and in my opinion, well worth the read.

Fantastic read, thanks for posting. I made the investment in VGs, and am looking forward to attaching them to my wing. This article confirms that it was money likely well spent!

Agreed - pretty much nothing but benefits from them. Plus I think you've got the right idea when we discussed painting them. Painting would make them look great, but upkeep and replacement for those that may be damaged - no fun. Keep'em as they came out of the package - smart!

Did you end up attaching VGs to your F2? If so, what are your thoughts regarding performance?

There is some argument that a fabric wing with all the rib bumps on top gives a similar effect to VGs due to the uneven elevations and variations of the actual airfoil shape over those scallops. With that in mind, we might not see quite as much benefit on Badland wings. It would be interesting to gather some precise data on this to see just how much truth there might be to the theory.

Good point...except I've seen videos of other ribbed aircraft (mostly STOL) that have added VG's, and they all claim 3 to 4 knots drop in stall, and no effect to top speed. I would like to have my plane and be able to run some tests to see what the effect would be. I'm still waiting for my kit.
