Tank installation process requires several trial placements to determine the placement of the tank and the location/length of the uprights and pre-bent brackets and to also locate the mounting bolt hole locations for the Adel Clamps. The BarnDoor 5 gallon tank fits snugly in its proper position behind the seat. I added anti-shafe tape to the portions of the tank where the mounting brackets and the fuselage tubing members meet the tank.
The BarnDoor tank has a nice 5" filler neck that makes it easy to reach inside the tank to install the fuel line fittings. I also added a roll-over vent and 11" fuel level sender (I had this on-hand from a previous project). The filler neck is offset to the port side so I had to grind/sand away a semi-circular portion of the port mounting strap to insure that the port strap fit better. I then ran scotch-brite over the parts/cleaned with paint-thinner?primed and painted the mounts before finally installing the tank.
