While the fiberglass cures

Post by ksatter26 »

I positioned and fiberglassed in the hole pattern for the carb/air-filter in the cowling. This is just the start of the cosmetic "fixing" of locating the proper position of the hole to match the Polini 303 profile and the mew windscreen position of the bubble cowling. Much has to be repeated for the exhaust system cout-outs. Outside and inside views.

While the fiberglass cures, I worked on the rubber/aluminum mount for the low-profile air-filter to the carb. Miss-matches in diameters so I bent up a tube of 0.016" aluminum and wrapped it in gasket rubber glued and clamped to the carb and the filter.

It looks like the cowl will be a nice snug fit around the air filter. It should have a nice clean look for sure.

I am looking forward to seeing the finished product!
