Awesome! I love a good picture dump!
I see a few very cool changes to the design since mine came into existence. Very nice.

Wow. Thats. a lot of hours of work and dedication represented in those pictures. I like your “new” wing room! That must really help keep things rolling. Keep up the outstanding work and its good to see the details of what happens at the Badland factory
Re: Some pics :)
Always enjoy pictures!
Pity the CF ribs are so expensive. When you look at the weight difference between wood and CF, how much more would varnish add to the wood? I'm assuming they do get varnished normally?

Thanks Chris and Merry Christmas. By the way, please take the 28 degree nights back north. I thought I moved to Florida, but I seem to be mistaken! Still waiting for the Santa flying a Badland. After all, you know that beard is insulation!

And a nick name or two are born.
That yellow bird is Woodstock from The Peanuts!
Your other choice is Tweety Bird from The Looney Tunes.
Snoopy and Sylvester say, pick one!

Thanks for the photos Chris!
In reference to nick names... I'm not feeling it with Tweety Bird! LOL
Nick names are a must! Mine is named Thor... for obvious reasons! LOL. My wife usually asks me if I'm going "Thor-ing" today!

I had a 40 acre ranch in Colorado that I sold a number of years back (still in the family so still usable - what a deal). It's name was Serenity Christian Ranch. Because it's no longer in my name, the name has moved to my future plane. It'll be Serenity and dedicated to my dad, MSgt. Bill J. Crenshaw. After all, shouldn't the things we love reflect the things we love?

Where was your ranch in Colorado? I lived in Colorado Springs for about 10 years.

Thanks Barry. My dad was a pretty big influence in my life. Kept me on the straight and narrow. He and my mother have long since passed, but I have many fond memories.broughtonkicks wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 10:43 amSerenity is a great name Todd! My ranch was just south of Cotopaxi, west of Canon City, west of Pueblo.
https://www.google.com/maps/place/737-1 ... FQAw%3D%3D
The acreage was at 7,000ft and topped out at 7,300ft. It was a great place and I loved how far off the beaten path it was. It's also not that far from the Fremont County Muni where I had intended for a base to fly in/out of. My heart attack in 2004 pretty much ended that. Being at up to 5,000ft is OK, but beyond that (living at that higher altitude) is really hard on the heart after a heart attack. I went to Pueblo and The Springs often as Canon City and Cotopaxi didn't have much in the way of hardware stores and the like. Winters were tough at that altitude, but they were also absolutely beautiful. I have friends in The Springs. Now in Florida, I haven't and most likely won't have any issues being at sea level. I miss those mountains though. I grew up in the Sierra Nevada's, and the Rocky's are only second to them. Beautiful country. I do miss it.

I've been through Cotopaxi countless times! The Orthopedic/Sport Medicine group that I used to be part of had "satellite clinics" in Leadville, Buena Vista, and Salida. So on my rotations, I'd make the loop around and take (I believe it was Hwy 50 from Salida, through Cotaopaxi, past the Royal Gorge through Canyon City and then catch 115 up past Fort Carson to the Springs.Badland-F5 Pilot wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 11:17 amThanks Barry. I miss the mountains and the lifestyle that you do not have here in western NY state.

Yep, been to Salida a few times and of course Cotapaxi, the gorge, and Canyon City. I also miss the mountains. I do love the Sierra Nevada's better, but the politics, cost of living, and taxes in California ran me out of my home state. Colorado was a good second choice. I bet you get as much of a kick out of people in the east that say "we have mountains" and just don't understand that their mountains are our mole hillsbroughtonkicks wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 10:43 am I've been through Cotopaxi countless times!
