At the bottom of the editor you're typing your message into you'll see a tab named Attachments. Click on it. In the attachment box, click on add files. Navigate to where the attachment is located on your computer and select it or multiples if more than one. You might need to press a Done or Save button to continue. If you only want to attach the picture, return to editing your message or click the Submit button. Or, you can click on the Place Inline button and your picture(s) will display in the message itself.
This is what most people do.

It's not real intuitive so if you have problems, let me know. Once you get the hang of it, it's not too difficult.
