Fuselage Covered - remounting engine

Post by ksatter26 »

The fuselage is basically covered. I do have a fair amount of finishing work left around the interior portions of the cabin area tubing.

With the covering done I was able to take the main gear off of the chairs that made it easier to get to the underside of the fuselage. Once that was done I used my handy Harbor Freight Engine Hoist to remove my "restored" 303 from the shipping crate to remount on the airframe.

If the weather remains fairly warm I just may open the hangar door and start her up. Also, I want to see what the nice red bubble cowl really looks like against the Sky Blue Oratex.

Very nice! It looks fantastic. What finishing work do you have left to do?

And let us know how she runs!

Getting the kinks out of the fabric around the small diameter welded frame. If you watch the YouTube videos you'll know what I mean.

The convex and concave shape of the vertical stabilizer is driven me nutsy.
