That's what I noticed as well. Picked up the tail quick. Now, using Jim Pfarr's Belite technique may get the plane off the ground even faster. Jim goes no flaps until just below rotation speed, then jacks in the flaps which pops the plane into the air, drops the flaps partly and fly's away.
Now with a small 2 stroke this may not work as well. However, with a 303 or a Thumpair (which has a lot of torque like a 1/2 VW) I think it might work. One day I hope to give it a few tries.

I have a lot of pics of it flying at Oshkosh but have never done u-tube, so I’ll have to see if I can down load some to here. Might have to get Grand kid help! I know there were a lot of others taking video so I figured they would show up by now.
